The single most effective interface from an applications
point of view has to be the two independent RS422 ports. This enables
Edifis equipment to interface with a massive range of external control
equipment from simple VTR controllers to advanced colour correction
equipment and presentation mixers. More complex interfacing is possible
via the Ethernet port. This allows third party software to manage the
media on disk as well as control the transports. At the most basic
level though all the units can be controlled via GPI's that are user
configurable.
